today was one of those 'perfect maternity leave' days. because you know they certainly aren't all like that! but this was one of them. the day started with snuggles in bed after a full nights sleep (thank you caleb) and banana on toast. then after a shuffle and a play we got ready, caleb wearing his polar bear jumper, me wearing LOTS of layers. edinburgh fought  back the rain and the sun shone through and we spent the day with some of our favourite people. scones, clotted cream, tea, charity shop finds, lots of cuddles with the babes, and some good ole girlie chats.....perfection :)

edinburgh is a great city to have a date with a polar bear.

  1. goodness, that DOES sound like a good day! :) cream teas and poking around charity shops feature high on my list of good things to do.

  2. you're a girl after my own heart! i'll be doing a post on my finds hopefully this week. the throw is from Matalan, but a few years back now. caleb adores it, think it's because of the contrasting colours.

  3. Great blog Claire! Your son is a cutie! Sounds like such a perfect day-I saw he's a bum shuffler. My neighbour's son bum-shuffled until the day he walked! I'm a new follower!

I know everyone keeps telling me he'll go straight to walking, will give my knees a rest but then i'll be running around all over the place......ahh the life of a mum!!

    1. thanks gill! when did calvin start to crawl?

    2. He started bum shuffling at about 9 months and walked properly about a week after his first birthday. Never did the proper crawling! Whereas Tris didn't start crawling until 11 months and didn't walk until 16 months (lazy thing!)

    1. thank you! Edinburgh really is stunning, even after living here for over 10 years I still get blown away by how beautiful it is. if your children have never been they'd love it! lots to discover and see, and great fun for them especially when the festival's on as each year there's more and more geared towards children. definitely a must in the future!
