there is something about the place you grow up in, it is like it's part of you. it doesn't matter how far you may move from it, it holds on tight. like a dear friend. like all dear friends, i don't see her as often as i would like and it was time for caleb to have a proper introduction.

liverpool welcomed him with open arms...

oh liverpool i had forgot how stunning you are. you really are something.
so a day showing my boy the sites, what to do next i wonder...
altogether now...ferry across the mersey. they actually played that song on the ferry, predictable? no. amazing? yes!
my home city is not immune to my cheesy tourist antics ;)
it would appear there is a lot of fun to be had on deck :)
what a view hey! it's a view that has changed so much since the last time i was on the ferry. it might not be to everyone's taste but i just adore the mix of old and new buildings. this city is seeped in history but i now like the fresh outlook these buildings bring.
talking of new buildings, are next port of call was the museum, in a word - wow.
our timing was perfect and the little liverpool gallery was just starting (it's an hour session). it was perfect for the caleb and nathan, they were off like a shot exploring
with this being our first stop when we arrived at the museum, it worked out perfect as the boys were pretty tired afterwards and chilled in their prams as my sister and i showed them the rest of the museum. i won't bore you with the hundreds of photos i took!! there was so much to see and take in, here are of few of my fav bits on the day...
this roger mcgough poem gave me goosebumps
nothing quite like the pride of scousers
seeing gecko's tribute to the families who fought for justice was made all the more poignant by the three minute silence that was being held that day. each canvas is different to represent each victim. the numbers on them, their age. the pink canvasses, for the women who died. it really does stop you in your tracks and demands the attention it so rightfully deserves. it's a stunning tribute.

so as first proper introductions to the city centre go, i think it was a pretty damn good one. thank you to my sister and nathan for making it a day to remember. looking forward to our next pool adventure ♥
