thank heaven for weekends

last week pretty much kicked our butt.

we had an appointment that didn't go exactly to plan.

my wisdom tooth that is taking it's sweet time to come through decided to get infected. yes, a whole world of pain right there.

and caleb, well caleb caught himself a lovely virus. a virus that decided to kick in at 5am friday morning. just in time for the weekend :(

we were about to write off our weekend, but caleb bucked up loads on the saturday afternoon, so we decided to have a little family walk around town.

i love nothing better than wrapping up warm and walking in the cold, autumn sun. throw in a hazelnut coffee, and you've got a very happy girl on your hands. especially when my walking buddies are these two...

the park was filled with caleb's shrieks and giggles chasing his daddy. a sight and sound i know i will never get enough of.

my turn to now chase after the little tinker. that is what i love most about weekends, tag team parenting. one gets to catch their breath while the other runs around like a loony, and then of course there are the times were we are all running around like loonies ;)

oh hello, handsome :)

so now it's monday, and there are no monday blues here. caleb virus...gone! my wisdom tooth infection...gone (please god stay that way)!

this week is to be a busy and productive one. that is the plan at least ;)

hello friday! what took you so long?? lets start off with a song shall we, get everyone in the mood. this is my new 'i will play it till i kill it' song. i love it when you get a song that gives you a surge of energy, and this tired mama has needed it. i have pretty much been singing this in my head at work all day, well lets hope in my head!

thumbs up for the sun

it's friday and the sun is out. i'm with caleb, thumbs up to that! after a great day with his grandma while we were both at work, we picked him up and instead of rushing back home to hide from the gale force winds we've had this week (seriously what's been going on with the weather?!) it was time to dig out the blanket and head outside. now this is how all weekends should begin.

the little mister is now fast asleep, our feet are up and a glass of vino in hand.

yay it's friday!

yay it's friday!

yay it's friday!! i have to say being a stay at home mum does kill the friday buzz a little at times, but with a free weekend ahead of us, i've got it. since christmas we have had a jam packed calendar. that's how we like it but i've also been craving some long overdue, 'just the three of us' time. i'm thinking lazy morning, poached eggs and well whatever we fancy doing.

have a lovely weekend everyone, whether it be jam packed or chilling :)

oh and i was totally chuffed when i rediscovered these leopard print boots collecting dust in  my wardrobe. i had totally forgot about them with them not being the most mamma friendly boots. ever do that? think i might keep some time aside this weekend to have a little root to see what other treasures i've forgotten about in there. if i'm posted missing you'll know where i'll be ;)

this little house...has a night out

remember the days when people asked you out and the biggest worry was, what were you going to wear? oh i do, like it was yesterday. now it's a military operation. so here we are at this weekend. me - hen do. boy - stag do. argument of which is more important - not an option. sooooo with the help from number one uncle we are cooking with gas. 

• 10.30am exit mikey go-karting
• 3pm uncle takes over from claire
• 5pm mikey takes over from uncle
• 7.45pm claire takes over from mikey
• 8.00pm exit mikey for meal etc etc

mission a success. happy parents. happy baby. trying to balance it all can be stressful at times but i think it is so important to go out 'sans baby'. so now it's time to kick off my heels, earlier than i used to think possible. but i'm good with that. I've got my cake, and i'm happily going to eat it :) did i mention i have wine too? happy saturday folks. love to hear what you're up to!
